Practice Exam Tips

  1. Take official LSATs. The more recent, the better. PrepTest 59, for example, is the December 2009 LSAT. Older or unofficial tests are unlikely to reflect your actual abilities. You can buy official, previously administered tests from Amazon. The June 2007 LSAT is free.
  2. Simulate the actual exam by taking the first three sections without any breaks. After the third section, take a 10 minute break. Then take the last section. Each section is 35 minutes. Give yourself 2.5 hours.
  3. Use the bubble sheet. Here's one to print out: bubble sheet. Simply bubbling in your answers can take more time than you think, which is why you want to practice it as well.
  4. Use an analog watch. Digital watches and timers are not allowed on the test. If you don't have an analog watch, consider buying one for $10.00 on Amazon. If you get a watch with a bezel, you can use the bezel to help you track your time.
